Baseball Game Preview: West Hall Spartans vs. Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes

The West Hall Spartans will head out to square off against the Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

West Hall took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They skirted past Monroe Area 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Spartans have posted since February 18th.

For Monroe Area's part, they got a good showing from Ayden Tabone, who kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Tabone has posted since back in February.

On the hitting side, Monroe Area saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Chappell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Monroe Area is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9. As for West Hall, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 5-11.
