Baseball Recap: Milan Takes a Loss

Milan fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Riverview on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 5-4. The Big Reds' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it six in a row.

Ryan Hatfield made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

Milan's loss dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Riverview, their record is now 6-12-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Milan beat the Pirates by a score of 5-1 later that day.
