 Two dominant  forwards in  Kai Shaw and  Gwen Nelson are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Centennial Golden Hawks's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Mission College Prep Royals at 6:00  p.m.  on February 16th. Both teams come into the  matchup bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
 With a playoff game on the line, Centennial rose to the challenge  on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Spartans by a score of  65-54.
 Meanwhile, Mission College Prep came tearing into  Wednesday's  matchup with four straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy  59-44 victory over Sanger. Given Mission College Prep's advantage  in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings  (they are ranked 167th, while Sanger is ranked 418th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 Centennial has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won ten of their last 11 matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record  this season. As for Mission College Prep, their victory was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 16-8.
 Centennial was able to grind out a solid  win over Mission College Prep in their previous matchup  back in December of 2023, winning  50-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for Centennial since the  team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
