Volleyball Recap: Amelia Anderson Key Part of Team Effort in Marauders Win

Mt. Vernon lost to Floyd Central back in October of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Marauders had just enough and edged out the Highlanders 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Marauders have posted since August 23rd.

Mt. Vernon's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amelia Anderson, who had 15 assists and seven digs. Anderson has been hot for a while, having posted 13 or more assists the last 21 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubry Dowling, who had 12 digs and two assists.

Mt. Vernon's win bumped their record up to 18-9. As for Floyd Central, the loss snapped their winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 22-5 record.

Mt. Vernon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against NorthWood on the 11th. As for Floyd Central, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Brownstown Central on the 11th.
