Softball Game Preview: Gilmer Bobcats vs. Ridgeland Panthers

Gilmer hasn't had much luck against Ridgeland recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bobcats will host the Panthers at 5:30 p.m. Gilmer will be strutting in after a win while Ridgeland will be coming in after a loss.

On Monday, Gilmer needed a bit of extra time to put away Northwest Whitfield. They skirted past the Bruins 3-2. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Bobcats as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Mia Henson was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Sarah Dale, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 16 runs the game before, Ridgeland was a bit more limited in their contest on Monday. They lost 9-1 to LaFayette. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Panthers have suffered since September 13th.

Alaina Shaver made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Ridgeland's loss dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Gilmer, their win bumped their record up to 15-13.

Gilmer couldn't quite get it done against Ridgeland in their previous meeting back in August as they fell 6-2. Can the Bobcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
