Softball Game Preview: Irmo Yellow Jackets vs. River Bluff Gators

Irmo is 0-4 against River Bluff since March of 2018 but things could change on Friday. The Yellow Jackets will be playing at home against the Gators at 7:15 p.m. Irmo has given up an average of 13.8 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Irmo lost 18-2 to Mid-Carolina on Thursday.

Irmo saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lauren Turner, who went 1-for-2 with one run. Roan Holt also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, River Bluff hadn't done well against White Knoll recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Gators had just enough and edged out the Timberwolves 8-6.

River Bluff's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Irmo, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.

Irmo suffered a grim 16-1 defeat to River Bluff in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Yellow Jackets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
