Central Christian had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Northwestern Huskies. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Comets have posted since April 17th.

Central Christian now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Northwestern, their loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-15.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central Christian will square off against Wellsville at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17 runs per game on average), something the Comets will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Northwestern, they will be playing at home against Orrville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
