Basketball Game Preview: West Catholic Burrs vs. Fleming Colonels

The West Catholic Burrs will take on the Fleming Colonels in a tournament on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

West Catholic took care of business in their home opener on Friday (and then some). They claimed a resounding 64-28 win over Carver High School of Engineering & Science. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Burrs have posted since January 11th.

West Catholic can attribute much of their success to Ciana Blake, who went 7 for 10 on her way to 17 points, and Milan Trusty, who went 6 of 11 en route to 14 points and six steals. Those 17 points gave Blake a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ciani Scott, who posted six points and nine rebounds.

Meanwhile, Fleming put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on The Covenant with a sharp 54-34 win.
