Baseball Game Preview: Grovetown Warriors vs. Archer Tigers

The Grovetown Warriors will square off against the Archer Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Grovetown's offense. They came up short against Archer on Wednesday, falling 10-0. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Warriors' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

For Archer's part, Noah Parsons was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Parsons has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Sean Gates was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season. Logan Pogorezelski was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Archer was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive games.

Archer's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Grovetown, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 6-8.
