Baseball Game Preview: Leyden Eagles vs. Proviso East Pirates

For the second straight game, Leyden will face off against Proviso East. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pirates at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Leyden's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Proviso East has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Leyden barely beat Proviso East the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles put the hurt on the Pirates with a sharp 7-1 victory on Tuesday.

Jacob Ganir was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Sammy Calderon, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Proviso East's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Leyden, their win bumped their record up to 7-10.
