Recap: The Webb Schools Gauls vs. San Gabriel Academy Eagles
The Webb Schools Gauls waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with four straight wins but they left with five. They took down San Gabriel Academy 46-29. For The Webb Schools, this counts as revenge for the 24-16 defeat San Gabriel Academy walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
The Webb Schools got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Pristine Thomas out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. Thomas has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Xajani Badkar was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds.
The Webb Schools has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season. As for San Gabriel Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. The Webb Schools won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against E at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th. E comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last seven games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for San Gabriel Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Western Christian at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday. Western Christian is hoping to put an end to an 11-game streak of away losses.
