Recap: Monte Vista Mustangs vs. Foothill Falcons
The Monte Vista Mustangs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took down Foothill 76-59. The win was just what Monte Vista needed coming off of a 75-54 defeat in their prior game.
Monte Vista's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alyssa Rudd, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 15 rebounds. Rudd is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Naliyah Sefidi was another key contributor, scoring 22 points.
Monte Vista is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Foothill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-4.
Monte Vista will head out on the road to challenge Livermore at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Foothill, they will be playing in front of their home fans against California at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully California focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Friday.
