Foothill Tech got a great performance from Connor Nelles as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Nelles also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Dragons are 8-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 8-10 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Robert Juker was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one run. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in April. Rainen Tolentino was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, Brentwood School sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 victory over Ontario on Tuesday. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly two runs.
The team relied heavily on Jack Kaplan, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Hudson Chase, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Brentwood School was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .311 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
Brentwood School's win bumped their record up to 17-7-1. As for Foothill Tech, their victory bumped their record up to 16-12.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Foothill Tech has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Brentwood School struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
