Baseball Recap: Corbin Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

After losing to North Laurel the last time they met, Corbin decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Redhounds blew past the Jaguars 9-2 on Monday. The game was the first time the Redhounds have beaten the Jaguars on their field since April 29, 2024.

Brady Webb spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on three hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Trey Person, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two doubles. He has become a key player for Corbin: the team is 7-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 14-15 otherwise. Malachi Zachery was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Corbin has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-16 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. As for North Laurel, they dropped their record down to 18-15 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Corbin will take on Knox Central at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Redhounds' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 9.8 runs per game this season. North Laurel does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
