On Saturday Essex's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Colchester Lakers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 4-3 back in April.

Essex's win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Colchester, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Essex will take on Champlain Valley Union at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Colchester, they will be playing at home against South Burlington at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
