Basketball Game Preview: Agoura Chargers vs. Westlake Warriors

Agoura is 1-9 against Westlake since November of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Agoura Chargers will be playing at home against the Westlake Warriors at 7:00 p.m.

Agoura is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 45-20 to Newbury Park. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 713th, while the Panthers are ranked 264th).

Meanwhile, Westlake entered their tilt with Calabasas on Tuesday with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Coyotes 75-35. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 21 points or more this season.

Westlake is also on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.2 points per game. As for Agoura, they now have a losing record at 10-11.

Agoura took a serious blow against Westlake when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 80-15. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Westlake's Mathis Dritz, who dropped a double-double on 39 points and 20 rebounds.
