Basketball Game Preview: Fresno Warriors vs. Immanuel Eagles

The Fresno Warriors will square off against the Immanuel Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fresno has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Fresno is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They strolled past Sunnyside with points to spare, taking the game 46-29.

Meanwhile, Immanuel came tearing into Friday's contest with 11 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.7 points), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Cougars, posting a 70-6 victory. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 20 matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Immanuel's win came from a few key players Fresno will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was China Moreno, who went 5-for-11 on her way to 12 points in addition to eight rebounds and six steals. Those six steals gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Adelina 'Nana' Moreno, who went 6-for-7 en route to 14 points along with five boards and three steals.

Immanuel smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 28 offensive boards. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 7.1 offensive rebounds per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 14.6.

Immanuel's win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-5. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.6 points over those games. As for Fresno, their victory bumped their record up to 11-18.

Fresno didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Immanuel when the teams last played back in December of 2021, but they still walked away with a 57-51 win. Will Fresno repeat their success, or does Immanuel have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
