Softball Recap: Lamar Beats La Junta for Their Third Straight Win

Lamar had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against the La Junta Tigers by a score of 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 4-2 on September 9th.

Carlin Weber was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Weber wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Khloe Fernandez, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Lamar's record is now 11-8. As for La Junta, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season.

Lamar didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-10 victory against Alamosa on the 4th. As for La Junta, they have also already played their next contest, a 5-3 loss against Pueblo South on the 2nd.
