Soccer Recap: Griffin Takes a Loss

Griffin was the 13-5 winner over McDonough when they last played one another back in March of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Warhawks who were credited with the victory on Wednesday. The McDonough Warhawks got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to the Griffin Bears' two. Griffin have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Griffin's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for McDonough, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Griffin will host Sandy Creek at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sandy Creek will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Griffin surely won't give up without a fight. As for McDonough, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Eagle's Landing at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Eagle's Landing will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something McDonough surely won't give up without a fight.
