Polk County is a perfect 8-0 against Madison since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Wolverines will square off against the Patriots at 7:30 p.m. Polk County has given up an average of 33.9 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Polk County is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Friday. They had to suffer through a 51-8 loss at the hands of Mountain Heritage. The Wolverines were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-0.

The losing side was boosted by Loreynzo Sanchez, who rushed for 90 yards and one TD.

Meanwhile, Madison took a blow against Hendersonville on Friday, falling 56-3. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 327th, while the Bearcats are ranked 89th).

Polk County will have to contain Ivan Blankenship as he made an impact in Madison's last game. He rushed for 93 yards and one score.

Polk County's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Madison, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Friday's contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Sanchez and Blankenship. Sanchez just won't slow down this season and has run in 10 touchdowns while averaging 181.9 rushing yards per game. Blankenship has been a dominant force too and has run in 5 touchdowns while averaging 124 rushing yards per game.

Everything came up roses for Polk County against Madison in their previous meeting back in August of 2024, as the team secured a 30-0 win. Will the Wolverines repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
