Basketball Recap: Firebaugh Comes Up Short

Firebaugh has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a hard 45-30 fall against the Coalinga Horned Toads on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-42 back in January.

Brooklyn Davis was the offensive standout of the game as she posted seven points in addition to 21 rebounds and three blocks. Those 21 boards gave her a new career-high. Alikah Rafiu was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Firebaugh's defeat dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Coalinga, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season.

Firebaugh didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 75-11 win against Tranquillity on the 31st. As for Coalinga, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 58-14 victory against Avenal on the 30th.
