Soccer Game Preview: CHAMPS vs. Lakeview Charter

CHAMPS hasn't had much luck against Lakeview Charter recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the CHAMPS face off against the Lakeview Charter at 1:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

CHAMPS is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They walked away with a 6-4 win over Valley Oaks CES on Friday. Violetta Guaderrama was a massive factor in the win as she booted in three goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Lakeview Charter had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 goals) and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. They never let the Knights onto the board and left with a 6-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won nine matches by four goals or more so far this season.

Lakeview Charter pushed their record up to 12-5-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 43 goals over those five contests. As for CHAMPS, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-6-1.

CHAMPS suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to Lakeview Charter in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can CHAMPS avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
