Elgin/Pope John is 8-2 against Plainview since December of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Wolfpack will challenge the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Elgin/Pope John is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 80-22 win over Randolph. The Wolfpack have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Elgin/Pope John's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Braelyn Martinsen led the charge by putting up 12 points. Madelyn Kurpgeweit was another key player, earning 12 points.

Meanwhile, Plainview had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Creighton 64-38 on Friday. The Pirates pushed the score to 60-28 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bulldogs cut but never quite recovered from.

Plainview found their leader in freshman Pressley Alexander, who went 7-for-13 on her way to 21 points and three steals. Alexander is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Riley Miller, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine boards.

Plainview was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Creighton only posted seven.

Plainview's victory bumped their record up to 7-15. As for Elgin/Pope John, their win bumped their record up to 18-5.

Elgin/Pope John beat Plainview 53-41 in their previous meeting back in December of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolfpack since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
