Softball Recap: Dewey's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Dewey had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They came out on top against the Broken Arrow Tigers by a score of 5-1. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldoggers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Kyla Overton made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chanley Herren, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Londyn Bond was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Dewey's record is now 18-5. As for Broken Arrow, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-3.

Coincidentally, Dewey and Broken Arrow will both be playing Charles Page the next time they take the field. The Bulldoggers will head out to face the Sandites at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, while the Tigers will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
