High Plains came into Thursday's matchup looking for another win against McCool Junction, but Natalie Clark wouldn't allow it. The Mustangs came out on top against the Storm by a score of 52-39 on Thursday thanks in part to Clark, who went 10-for-20 to rack up 26 points in addition to seven steals and six boards. She has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last seven times she's played.

High Plains lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Peyton Hofmann, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Gahvrielle Lesiak, who posted eight points and six steals.

McCool Junction has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. As for High Plains, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2.

Coming up, McCool Junction won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Sutton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. McCool Junction will need to watch out since Sutton has now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for High Plains, they will challenge Mead at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
