Football Recap: Friday's Loss Ends Newcastle's Winning Streak + How To Watch

It was a good run, but Newcastle unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 24-14 to the Bishop McGuinness Fighting Irish. The Racers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Fighting Irish apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Even if they lost, Newcastle's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. In that department, Quinn Hously was the leader with two. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 15. Preston Scagnetti was another major factor on D, making 14 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Newcastle's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 6-3. As for Bishop McGuinness, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
