Basketball Recap: Rosamond Piles Up the Points Against California City

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rosamond). They blew past the California City Ravens 64-20 on Tuesday. With that win, the Roadrunners brought their scoring average up to 50.1 points per game.

Leading Rosamond to victory were Abigail Cardoza and Nadiyah Baladez. Cardoza posted 23 points and five steals, while Baladez almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Cardoza has scored at least a third of Rosamond's points. Another player making a difference was Kiley Perez, who put up three points in addition to seven assists and six steals.

When it comes to explaining why California City lost, don't look at Malayah Ward. Despite the final result, she had seven points and ten rebounds. That was a full 35% of California City's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

The victory made it two in a row for Rosamond and bumps their season record up to 7-1. As for California City, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Rosamond wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 83-28 defeat against Tehachapi on the 19th. As for California City, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-37 loss against Desert on the 20th.
