After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Chowchilla, Avenal was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Alpaugh Buffalos 47-20. The Buccaneers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 21 points or more this season.

Despite the defeat, Alpaugh had strong showings from Alexa Sixtos, who posted seven points along with eight rebounds and four steals, and Rosalyn Perez, who put up four points and seven rebounds. Sixtos is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season.

Avenal's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 22 points. As for Alpaugh, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.

Avenal didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 31-21 loss against Woodlake on the 20th. As for Alpaugh, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 60-30 defeat against Orange Cove on the 20th.
