Baseball Recap: Archbishop Mitty Monarchs vs. Valley Christian Warriors
Archbishop Mitty had lost four straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 15-11 to make it five. They lost 10-1 to the Valley Christian Warriors. The Monarchs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 9-8.
Archbishop Mitty got a good showing from Nico Mata, who tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Mata has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Archbishop Mitty saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Max Whelan, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.
