Preview: Renaissance Academy Knights vs. Delaware County Christian Knights
The Renaissance Academy Knights will head out on the road to take on the Delaware County Christian Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Renaissance Academy has nine straight wins, the Knights have six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Even though Renaissance Academy has not done well against the Warriors recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Renaissance Academy simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Warriors 53-25 at home.
Renaissance Academy's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Dallis Stewart, who scored 17 points along with eight steals, and Saydi Daye, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Stewart has scored all season. Aniyah Jones was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Delaware County Christian had to suffer through a rough 73-32 loss at the hands of the Clippers.
Renaissance Academy pushed their record up to 14-4 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Delaware County Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
Renaissance Academy came up short against the Knights when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 51-40. Can Renaissance Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
