Baseball Recap: Centennial Takes a Loss

Centennial and Union Grove squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Centennial had to settle for second. They came up short against the Wolverines, falling 9-3. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Daniel Bustillos was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Centennial saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Juan Pablo Rivas, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one RBI. That triple was Rivas' first of the season.

Centennial's record now sits at 17-13. As for Union Grove, they have been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-14 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Centennial beat Union Grove by a score of 5-0 later that day.
