Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hempstead). Everything went their way against the Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont Rockets on Saturday as they made off with a 16-2 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Mustangs, who have now won five contests in a row.

Hempstead pushed their record up to 5-7 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-16 record this season.

Hempstead will square off against Waterloo West at 4:00 p.m. on the 7th. As for Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Centerville on the 30th.
