Baseball Game Preview: Rockdale County Bulldogs vs. South Gwinnett Comets

The Rockdale County Bulldogs will face off against the South Gwinnett Comets at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Thursday, Rockdale County came up short against Central Gwinnett and fell 10-7.

Meanwhile, South Gwinnett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 12-10 heartbreaker at the hands of Rockdale County. One positive for the Comets, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Christopher Frazier stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. Derek Patterson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-5.

South Gwinnett's defeat dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Rockdale County, their loss dropped their record down to 7-14.

Rockdale County skirted past South Gwinnett 12-10 in their previous matchup on Tuesday. Does Rockdale County have another victory up their sleeve, or will South Gwinnett turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
