Softball Recap: West Branch Comes Up Short

West Branch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 16-1 to the West Liberty Comets. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bears have suffered since June 5th.

West Branch's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for West Liberty, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

West Liberty has already played their next contest, a 9-1 victory against Regina on the 24th. Hopefully West Branch paid attention to the Comets' matchup: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Comets at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
