Baseball Recap: Parkview Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Parkview and Etowah squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Parkview had to settle for second. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 6-0. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2018.

Porter Berryman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.

Parkview dropped their record down to 26-10 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Etowah, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 33-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Eagles beat Parkview by a score of 15-1 later that day.
