Soccer Recap: South Gate Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact South Gate can now relate to. They fell just short of the Banning Pilots by a score of 2-1 on Monday. The Rams were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Pilots earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

South Gate's goal came courtesy of Melody Arevalo, who's now up to 17 this season.

South Gate's defeat dropped their record down to 16-4. As for Banning, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season.

South Gate does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Banning, they will square off against Verdugo Hills at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Verdugo Hills comes in on four and Banning on three.
