The Franklin County Seahawks will square off against the Destin Sharks at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Franklin County's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while Destin has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
Franklin County will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Monday, then bounced right back against Jefferson County on Friday. Franklin County blew past Jefferson County 16-1. The Seahawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Franklin County got a massive performance out of Sadiq Jones, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Jones has become a key player for Franklin County: the team is 8-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Colby Blackburn, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two runs.
Jones wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Franklin County lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in February of 2024.
Meanwhile, Destin suffered their closest loss since April 19, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of Lighthouse Private Christian Academy by a score of 5-3.
Vance Kirby spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 11 Ks. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
At the plate, Destin saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaxx Emmert, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Destin's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Franklin County, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.
Franklin County's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's game. Franklin County has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game.
