Football Game Preview: Piedra Vista Panthers vs. Cibola Cougars

The Piedra Vista Panthers will face off against the Cibola Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Piedra Vista hasn't scored more than 13 points for four games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

Piedra Vista is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Mexico's top teams: Cleveland, who was ranked second at the time (Piedra Vista was ranked 14th). The Panthers took a blow against the Storm on Friday, falling 54-0. Considering the last time the Panthers couldn't score was back in September, the team can't take the result too hard.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Cibola, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They strolled past Farmington with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 28-10.

The critical scores for Cibola came from Hayes Baum, Damian Suarez, Jeremiah Gutierrez, and Emmanuel Apodaca.

Piedra Vista's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Cibola, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-3.
