Basketball Recap: Hayfork Comes Up Short

Hayfork lost against Etna back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Hayfork Timberjacks took a 43-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Etna Lions. The Timberjacks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Hayfork lost, don't look at Riley Bayley. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaelynn Bayley, who posted six points in addition to ten boards and four steals.

Hayfork's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Etna, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Hayfork will be playing in front of their home fans against Ferndale at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Etna, they will square off against Burney at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Burney is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51 points per game this season.
