Basketball Game Preview: Clovis North Broncos vs. El Capitan Vaqueros

Having just played yesterday, the Clovis North Broncos will head out on the road to face off against the El Capitan Vaqueros at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Clovis North comes in on three and El Capitan on six.

Clovis North saw some tournament action on Friday. They secured a 54-50 W over Dana Hills. Given the Broncos' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 189th, while the Dolphins are ranked 600th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for El Capitan against Poway on Friday as the team secured a 65-28 victory. The Vaqueros have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 23 points or more this season.

El Capitan pushed their record up to 12-2 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.9 points per game. As for Clovis North, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Clovis North came up short against El Capitan in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 52-48. Thankfully for Clovis North, Amaya Tone (who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
