Basketball Game Preview: Reagan Rattlers vs. Johnson Jaguars

Reagan and Johnson are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Reagan Rattlers will host the Johnson Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Reagan is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Madison: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Reagan blew Madison out of the water with a 55-24 final score. Given the Rattlers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 240th, while the Mavericks are ranked 930th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Reagan had a senior duo take command as Renata Parga posted 11 points and seven boards and Sahara Green put up eight points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Bria Glosson, who earned nine points.

Reagan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Johnson). They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 72-16 win over SA Roosevelt. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-11.

With the victory, Johnson broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 21-11. As for Reagan, their win bumped their record up to 17-12.
