Dominion Christian will square off against Bethlehem Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Dominion Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.

Dominion Christian is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Tallulah Falls just ended the team's 16-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indians.

Gabe Buckner was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. Buckner was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Buckner wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Canaan Bowen, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bethlehem Christian Academy). They put the hurt on Riverside Military Academy with a sharp 28-0 win on Thursday. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Bethlehem Christian Academy, bringing their record up to 20-9. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Dominion Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 22-5.

Everything went Dominion Christian's way against Bethlehem Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2019, as Dominion Christian made off with a 13-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dominion Christian since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
