Monroe City had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They had just enough and edged out the Mark Twain Tigers 8-7. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won four in a row.

Mark Twain is on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monroe City will head out to challenge Macon at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mark Twain, they will venture away from home to take on Palmyra at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
