Basketball Recap: Oldsmar Christian Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Oldsmar Christian kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 66-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the West Hernando Christian Bears. The Eagles lost against the Bears in their previous head to head back in February of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 68-34 score last time.

Colvin Grob was nothing short of spectacular for West Hernando Christian: he almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine boards. Grob's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Browdy Braxtyn, who almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine rebounds.

West Hernando Christian now has a winning record of 2-1.

Oldsmar Christian and West Hernando Christian will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time Oldsmar Christian sees the court they'll take on Faith Outreach Academy at 4:00 p.m. on January 9, 2026. As for West Hernando Christian, their break will end when they face Varsity Opponent on January 9, 2026.
