Football Recap: Southeast of Saline Skates Past Phillipsburg with Ease

Southeast of Saline extended their postseason success on Friday against Phillipsburg. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Panthers 44-6. Fans of the Trojans have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Leading Southeast of Saline to victory were Grady Gebhardt and Tiernan Ptacek. Gebhardt rushed for 172 yards and four scores while picking up 8.2 yards per carry, while Ptacek threw for 158 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 76.5% of his passes. Gebhardt is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last eight games he's played.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Southeast of Saline was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 272 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 272 rushing yards in four consecutive matchups.

Southeast of Saline's record is now 11-0. As for Phillipsburg, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-4.

Coming up, Southeast of Saline will host Hoisington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals' defense has only allowed 11.2 points per game this season, so the Trojans' offense will have their work cut out for them. Phillipsburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
