Air Academy extended their winning streak to five on Wednesday, bumping them up to 5-0. They put the hurt on the Lewis-Palmer Rangers with a sharp 21-10 victory. The Kadets' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Bailey Williams was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and six unearned) runs off 13 hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Keira Finkle was a standout: she went 4-for-6 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in August of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Rideau Dravida, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI.
Air Academy hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least two batters every time they've taken the field this season.
As for Lewis-Palmer, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat they have suffered against Air Academy since August 25, 2023.
On Lewis-Palmer's side, they got a big performance out of Joella Streeter, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Drew Capps was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Coming up, Air Academy will take on Berthoud in a tournament on Friday. As for Lewis-Palmer, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pueblo Centennial at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
