Ishpeming Hematites (Ishpeming, MI) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Manistique Emeralds (Manistique, MI), 58-51 in a league bout.

With the victory, Ishpeming upgrades its record to 1-2 on the campaign. The Hematites travel to Negaunee (Negaunee, MI) to play the Miners in a Mid-Peninsula bout on Wednesday, January 13. The Miners come into the bout with a record of 1-4.
