Sychar Sterling has been named player of the year. "Congrats to Sychar Sterling for being named our 2013-2014 Player of the Year. Sychar is a 4 year varsity player, 3 year starter and 3 year team captain. Sychar has won over 70 career games to go along with 2 District Championships and 1 Regional Championship the second in the history of New Haven High School. Sychar has been a great leader in our program. All of the hard-work, dedication and sacrifice he has made over the years has truly been special and he is going to be greatly missed. Sychar averaged 14.5 points, 10.3 rebounds, 3.1 assist and 2.0 steals a game this season. He had several big games scoring 30 points 15 rebounds 6 steals and 5 assist vs L'anse Creuse and 25 points 12 rebounds 4 steals and 4 blocks vs Marysville. Sychar was named to the First team MAC Gold and 1st team All-Macomb teams. He was also named to the Macomb County 1st team All-Defensive team for third consecutive year. He was Honorable Mention All-State Class C by the Associated Press and Detroit News."
