In Monday's league contest, the Marlette Red Raiders (Marlette, MI) softball team the host Harbor Beach Pirates (Harbor Beach, MI), by a margin of 6-2.

With the triumph, Marlette moves its record to 17-7 on the year. The Red Raiders host Brown City (Brown City, MI) to face the Green Devils in a Greater Thumb - East match on Wednesday, May 23. The Green Devils go into the match with a record of 0-2. Brown City lost 5-4 in their recent non-league match against Almont (Almont, MI)

With the loss, Harbor Beach moves to 0-4 on the season.

Karley Sauder pitched well and got out of a few tight jams because of our mistakes on defense. She did get some help from some good plays on the defensive side too, but her 10 K's were huge in the outcome of the game. Amber Fischer and Angela King both contributed two hits to lead the offensive attack and helped Marlette secure the game two victory. Although not pretty on the offensive side, in the cold and rain and fairly nasty conditions, we will take it and move forward.
