The Highland Cougars baseball team (Ewing, MO), was overwhelmed 18-4 in Tuesday's league outing with the visiting Centralia Panthers (Centralia, MO)

The Panthers now hold a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they host South Shelby for a Clarence Cannon outing on Thursday, April 4. Centralia will face a Cardinals team coming off a 4-2 non-league win over Atlanta (Atlanta, MO). The Cardinals record now stands at 2-1.

Next, the Cougars face the Seymour Indians (Payson, IL) in a non-league outing, on Thursday, April 4. Highland will attempt to advance on its 1-3 season record.

The Centralia Panthers beat the Highland Cougars 17-4 in the conference opener for the Cougars. Centralia pounded out 17 hits and took advantage of 6 Cougar errors. The Panthers scored 5 unearned runs in the 1st and put 10 unearned runs on the board for the game. Cody Wilkens (0-2) took the loss for the Cougars allowing 11 hits striking out 1 and did not allow a walk. Jack Neisen, Jonathan Boyer, Ryan Waterman, and Dakota Sparks had the lone Cougar hits. Neisen, Boyer, and Waterman had RBI's for Highland. The Cougars fall to 1-3 overall and 0-1 in the CCC. They will host the Indians of Payson Seymour on Thursday in a home game at 5 pm.
